Held from July 15–17 in Singapore, the summit spotlighted the region’s leading advancements in food, beverage, and nutritional science. Vinamilk stood out for unveiling its pioneering 6-HMO infant formula, a major leap forward in pediatric health for Asian families.
What’s New?
Vinamilk’s latest innovation—the Optimum formula with six human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs)—marks a first in Vietnam’s dairy industry and a bold move in Asia’s nutritional science scene. HMOs are key immune- and gut-supporting nutrients found in breast milk, and Vinamilk’s new formula is designed to bring these critical compounds to families that may not be able to rely solely on breastfeeding.
The product arrives at a crucial time: in Vietnam, over 55% of infants aren’t exclusively breastfed during their first six months. The new 6-HMO blend offers an enhanced alternative that mimics the complexity of natural breast milk better than previous 5-HMO products, which had been the standard since 2021.
Vinamilk is the first local brand in the region to introduce a formula that combines rare components like difucosyllactose (DFL) and 3-fucosyllactose (3-FL)—both rarely found together in other commercial products.
